It is no surprise that both firewalls also need an extra line in the filtering ruleset, which permits XMLRPC communication between them. The new rule allows TCP ports 80 and 443 from the partner firewall on its LAN adapter.

Next, the leading firewall RT-1 requires configuration to become an explicit web proxy. The resulting configuration must be identical on both devices to achieve the same application behavior.

If the proxy service is configured to listen on a specific network adapter, it accepts requests from clients at all available addresses (IPv4, IPv6, CARP, virtual IP) of that adapter.
