Chapter 6 – Unexpected Findings

Five Days Later. Saturday Night.

Dave made his way through Tommy Esposito's house for the second consecutive Saturday, fist-bumping and shaking hands with his friends and classmates as he headed for the keg. Hold on, was that Alex Paterson from his English class? Even the band kids were here tonight? Apparently, the entire school had found out about round two of the party of the century, because he wasn't sure if another person could fit inside Tommy's house. It was completely packed.

Tiffany Stevens—the captain of the cheerleading squad—bit her lower lip as he grabbed a cup to get a beer. A quick glance at the rest of her cheerleader friends revealed six sets of eyes watching his every move. Life was good for the eighteen-year-old standout athlete. The ladies loved him, he would be playing college football for a major university in four months, and he didn't have a single complaint as the lights dimmed and the music began to blast. Could tonight possibly get crazier than last Saturday? He didn't know, but he planned to find out.

Tiffany had yet to stop staring at him as he raised the cup of beer to his mouth. The busty redhead possessed curves in all the right places, and she certainly gave off a vibe of a girl who liked to get a little wild. Tonight would be about the cute girl who he'd never had a real conversation with before. Tonight would be all about Tiffany.

“Hey, Dave.”

He stopped in his tracks as Meg greeted him while she grabbed a beer for herself. The tall glass of water in front of him would be more than enough to make him forget about Tiffany Stevens, but the arrival of her two best friends caused him to completely forget what he'd been up to before their arrival. The three knockouts were distractingly gorgeous.

“Hey,” he returned Meg's greeting before zeroing on the one girl who he'd gotten to know on a very personal basis last week. “Hey, Sarah.”

“Hey, Dave,” Sarah smiled before looking down at the floor, shy as ever.

“So, are we gonna get to see more of those famous dance moves tonight?” Meg asked the football star with a sly smirk.

“Yeah, you and Sarah really set the dancefloor on fire last week,” Kim laughed.

Sarah didn't have time to rebuff her friends' sarcastic comments. In fact, she wasn't even given a chance to voice her opinion, because a particularly strong hand had wrapped around her forearm before she could process the situation. She couldn't believe it, but Dave dragged her onto the dancefloor to pick up where they'd left off last week.

“He didn't even ask her if she wanted to dance,” Meg pointed out as she watched Sarah become reacquainted with the sexiest jock in school. “He didn't say anything at all! Oh my God, he's so hot!”

Kim shared her bestie's excitement. It may have taken her a while to eventually see the light for herself, but she could no longer deny that Dave's take-charge demeanor did something for her which she struggled to explain.
