CHAPTER TEN

COMPOSING THE

PERFECT PRAYER

Now that you’ve learned and have been given examples of what the five Steps are, what they do, and how they go together, you’re ready to begin composing Affirmative Prayers of your own. Doing so is stimulating, fulfilling and fun. It is speaking to, and co-creating with Spirit!

In the next chapter are examples of affirmative statements to be used within Step 3 from the five main categories that seem to be of most concern in people’s lives: 1) Health, 2) Abundance, Money and Prosperity, 3) Love and Friendship, 4) Work, Self-Expression and Creativity, and 5) Loss. Use these statements verbatim, revise them or as springboards towards creating your own. Wherever “Spirit” or any other term is used, use whatever name you feel most comfortable with.

To begin, choose a category to be used within Step 3 that you would like to address. Then, from that particular category choose an affirmative statement that resonates with you. Next, select statements from Steps 1, 2, 4 and 5 that most relate to the issue you have chosen, and which resonates with you. If you wish, choose a transition statement to insert between Steps 2 and 3.

Write down the statements you have chosen in the appropriate order, i.e. Steps 1 through 5, to create your prayer.

You can write your prayer on a single sheet of paper, decorative stationery or on note cards. If you feel so inclined, you may wish to copy down all the statements printed in the next chapter, or create your own using these as a guide, onto individual 3x5 index cards or smaller-sized sheets of loose leaf paper which often come with a binder. With each statement on a separate card or sheet of paper, you can then organize them into their appropriate Steps and categories. This will allow you to mix and match, composing an Affirmative Prayer that is tailored just for you, and that you can change every day.

Displaying the cards on a small picture-frame easel that you can keep on a desk, dresser or personal altar is also a nice touch. A mini photo album, folding credit card wallet or blank diary are other easy, portable ways you can organize or take your assembled prayer with you to refer to wherever and whenever you wish.

Once composed, speak or think your prayer silently to yourself with confidence, faith, conviction and strength, believing that the results you desire have already manifested, that your good is here now, and is yours by Divine birthright!

Do this as often as you feel you need to, until you feel complete and at peace. Then release the prayer and go about your business, expecting perfect results.
