CHAPTER SEVEN

I’m safe, I’m also really sorry Lapis. Everything worked out okay. It was who I thought it was, but it got worked out. I think. Are you okay?

Alex sent off the message and then waited for her to respond, hoping it would be soon. They were back in Aurora’s apartment now and he’d gone to the bathroom. He set the phone down and took a piss. Before he was finished, it buzzed. He quickly finished up, then washed and dried his hands, and picked the phone back up.

Just got home. No one followed me as far as I could tell. It’s okay, I’m not mad, just freaked out. Don’t take this the wrong way, but it might be a little bit before I’m willing to leave the house again. I know it isn’t your fault, but I panic kind of easily and I just need some space. If you’re still around when I’m feeling better, then I could go out again. Probably. I actually was having a really good time. Like, better than I’ve had in a long time. So don’t take it personally, it isn’t you. You’re really fun, Alex.

He sighed with relief that she was home and that she actually had a good time, but he still felt really, really guilty about making her panic. He really understood, and fuck, it had to be worse for her, given her anxiety problems.

I’ll be here for another few weeks probably, I don’t really have a timeline to go home. I’m really glad you’re home and safe, and that you had a good time. I did too. You’re a lot of fun and really great to talk to. If and when you’re ready, we can go mini-golfing.

Another few seconds went by.

That’d be fun! I do actually really look forward to it. I’ll be in touch. I gotta shut down and be alone for awhile now.

He considered what to say for a few seconds. A lot of things went through his head, but then he just sent a simple Okay. Talk to you later. And left it at that. He didn’t want to keep bothering her if she needed to decompress. After putting his phone up, Alex left the bathroom. He found all three women waiting for him in Aurora’s bedroom. Aurora was nude except for a pair of tight black panties that stood out in very stark contrast to her pale skin, and Emma...was wearing nothing save for a pair of fishnet stockings.

Brianna was sitting on a chair with a smirk on her face.

“So...what’s up?” he asked, as they were all looking at him expectantly.

“First of all, how are you doing?” Emma replied.

“I’m...calmer. I feel guilty mainly. Lapis was really freaked out by the whole thing. She’s got kind of serious anxiety problems, so it freaked her out a lot more than it freaked me out. And I feel bad because she never gets out and she said she was actually having a good time.”

“Goddammit,” Emma whispered, losing her smile. “This didn’t scare her off, did it?”

“No, I don’t think so.
