A pragma may appear in a packetC module at any location that a packetC declaration or statement could legally appear. Best practices for pragmas encourage locating or including them near the top of a module or placing them textually adjacent to the declarations that they affect. A packetC compiler will issue a warning if it encounters an unrecognized pragma. Legal pragma syntax is indicated below:

pragma_category:

control // language-defined category

datatype // language-defined category

identifier

pragma_argument_clause:

( pragma_arg_list )

pragma_arg_list:

pragma_arg

pragma_arg_list, pragma_arg

pragma_arg:

expression // implementation-defined argument

where identifier designates an implementation-defined pragma category, and where expression designates an implementation-defined pragma argument.
