Oh, his mate was asking for it big-time. Nija was half tempted to drag him back into the club to one of the back rooms and toss him over one of the spanking tables. He was that close to doing it, too.

“Then I will drive you home.” He opened the passenger door, his mate giving him a spoiled look before he slid in. Nija sighed as he closed the door. Perfect fucking ending to a perfect fucking night.

He drove through the city, sliding his hand over the console to entwine his fingers into Jimmy’s. His mate sighed as he stared out of the window. Nija worried about his mate. There were so many unknown things about Jimmy that he was tempted to take him to his home instead and never let Jimmy leave his side.

Nija pulled up in front of Jimmy’s house, cutting the motor as he let his mate’s hand go and slid out of the driver’s side. He smiled when Jimmy’s eyes widened at how fast he was at his mate’s door, opening it.

“You’re fast.”

Nija chuckled. “You have no idea.” He followed behind Jimmy, scanning the area as they made their way to the door. He had an ill feeling as his mate unlocked the front door. He wasn’t sure if it was Vincent or someone else, but Nija felt it in the air. It was like a living and breathing entity that surrounded him, warning him. Nija glanced around, but saw nothing to raise his suspicions.

“Do I have to invite you in again?” Jimmy asked as he opened the door, looking over his shoulder at Nija with a mischievous gleam in his eyes.

“Only if you want to,” he replied.

Shifters’ homes were the only place a vampire could enter uninvited, which perplexed him even more about his mate. If Jimmy had traces of vampirism in his blood, why did he still need to be invited in?

“You’re welcome to come in, Nija,” Jimmy said with a smile.

Nija stepped over the threshold and then hissed, baring his fangs as he threw Jimmy behind him.
