Stephanie closed her eyes, and counted to ten.

Harold was sitting on his chair, deliberating on a pack of tube socks.

“Probably their mother’s away,” she said as she flicked through the list. “She’s not gonna like to know what her daughters are doing.”

“They are just having fun.”

But his wife snorted and picked up her cell-phone, and started browsing the numbers.
