Chapter Four – Natalie

I was thirty-six this year and, although it sounds a bit arrogant, I’m looking good. My husband, Jeff, claims I look ten years younger but he is probably biased. Back in June, we celebrated our birthdays together during a highly-charged… okay, highly-sexed… trip to London. That few days turned out to be the start of an exciting new phase in our relationship brought on by our visits to an intimacy therapist named Dr. Sarah Sansome. Her work with us made us realize we are still sexual beings despite the constraints of our young son dictating our every move.

It’s now been almost six months since we got back and, while the sex is still great, we are back into the daily routine of normal life.

Although Jeff travels frequently on business I’m lucky enough to stay close to home with my job as the CFO of a software company. Unfortunately, I have one annual travel obligation and it was coming up. I was scheduled to be away from home on a business trip, helping to host a software user group conference for my company. Luckily, I wasn’t in marketing, like my best friend Tina, so my participation was very limited. It was more that our CEO, Russell, wanted all the C-Team to be seen at the big receptions to “show the flag.”

The event was scheduled for Friday through Sunday so I would be traveling from the Bay Area on Thursday and returning on a flight early Monday. It invariably took place at a large resort hotel in the Bahamas to get customers relaxed and hopefully in the mood to buy or upgrade our software!

Regrettably, Jeff had to stay home because of a big merger deal that was scheduled to close on the Friday.

On the opening Friday evening, I was expected to attend the big Welcome Reception in the main ballroom of the hotel. Happily, it was over by 7:00 and Tina arranged for us to sneak off for a nice dinner in the hotel’s smartest restaurant. She is always a great dinner companion because she invariably has wild stories to tell. It was Tina who’d recommended Dr. Sansome and her intimacy counseling.

The food was great, Tina was at her most talkative and the wine flowed freely. As each glass of wine led to another Tina was regaling me with the most outrageous stories of her sex life with her husband Luke and even more outrageous fantasies about our colleague Paul. Young Paul, as I referred to him was on our Asia/Pacific sales team and was hopefully, at that very moment, convincing some major hospital executives from Thailand of the merits of our software solutions. Tina’s imagination was running wild with potential sexual situations that she could manipulate Paul into. I have to admit that her stories were even turning me on.

At the end of the meal, Tina told me that she had noticed a new glow about me and she assumed it was a direct result of her having recommended the therapy with Dr.
