To create an index on the projects field, use the following command.db.employeeproject.createIndex({projects:1})

Here is the output,> db.employeeproject.createIndex({projects:1})

{

"createdCollectionAutomatically" : false,

"numIndexesBefore" : 1,

"numIndexesAfter" : 2,

"ok" : 1

}

Note

You can’t create a compound multikey index.

Step 2: Text Indexes

MongoDB provides text indexes to support text search queries on string content. You can create a text index on a field that takes as its value a string or an array of string elements.

Consider this post collection.db.post.insert({

"post_text": "Happy Learning",

"tags": [

"mongodb",

"10gen"

]

})
