How many athletes actually have a backup plan? And how many athletes had ever been into me? Me? A much bigger version of the me I am today. And less cool, if you can believe that.

Ray was every boy in high school I ever had a crush on, wrapped up in one, except he actually wanted me. Did he stand a chance against Heath? A version of Heath that was just as sweet and kind and sensitive and funny and caring as he is today, just in a slightly less impressive physique. No, Ray didn’t stand a snowman’s chance in the tropics.
