But then my perfect night was shattered in a truly terrifying way. My dreams since being back in Mystic Harbor had all been blissfully quiet, but it seems the stress of introducing Cedric to the group and then the reality of what I had gone through had decided to hit all at once.
The smell hit me first. That sterile disinfectant that isnât found anywhere else besides hospitals. My skin is hot, so fucking sensitive as the stiff and cheap sheets scratch my skin as I try to find a comfortable position on the bed. But when I try to move I realize that I am restrained. Looking up and down I see that the restraints hold me hostage and I start to scream. Before a sound can escape me though, a cloth gets shoved into my mouth.
âHello, little Eleanor,â Sloaneâs voice hit me, making me freeze in terror. Long fingers trace the gag he had shoved into my mouth then down the side of my face. When I let out a whimper and turn my head away he laughs tauntingly at me. âYou canât get away or use your magic to save you this time. The last time you went into heat you were such a little fucking bitch. No need to worry, Iâll help you through it this time.â
My protests are muffled by the gag but somehow one of the restraints loosens and I use it as my chance to get free. Swinging wildly, I manage to hit him, satisfaction filling me as hot blood hit my face and he began to curse holding his gushing nose.
âYou bitch! Youâll pay for that.â
But I start running, not wanting to stick around for him to completely lose it. I rip the gag out of my mouth and stumble down the hallways, desperate to get out. Escape. Freedom. I need my mates. Where were they? Why canât I find them?!
Help me! Gods. Please find me.
Soon.
Coldness had me screaming, a complete contrast to the heat of my skin and I blinked. Suddenly I wasnât in Kensington trying to escape Sloane, I was at the harbor, my feet in the shallows of the icy water. Glancing down I was happy to see that I wasnât naked like I had dreamed but I did see blood on Hunterâs shirt that I had snagged at some point to sleep in. Fuck, what happened? Was this some new drug they were giving me to think I was back here? I couldnât tell what was real and what was fake as I started to see Sloane in the distance, calling my name, the windows of the sunroom visible in the distance.
Then I heard people calling my name. My mates⦠but wait, were they real or fake? Then Malik⦠Cedricâs face swam into focus and I knew I needed him. He would be able to tell me what was real and what wasnât. He had been in that place⦠he would be able to ground me.
Throwing back my head I screamed for him, hopefully heâd find me before it was too late.
