Informal Presentations

Informal presentations are the kinds of presentations that you are likely to make more often. They can be brief committee reports, reports on the status of an ongoing project, reporting on a staff meeting, and/or expressing the concerns of constituents.

The guidelines suggested previously hold for informal presentations as well, but the presentations may be shorter. There may not be an “audience” per se, and one may have less time to prepare. If these presentations occur fairly regularly, try to organize the template of the content so that people will know what to expect and when to expect it; include old business and new business. Use bullet points to help organize thinking. Notes do not have to be detailed but enough to jog one’s memory so that talk can be conversational.
