Tangled

Like candle smoke, our fingers drift and yoke

and tingle ‘til they twitch, and I bathe

in your radiance like a lizard in the sun.

I wallow in your soul and bite your scalp

‘til your hair twists ‘round my tongue,

your thoughts run through my mind,

and our hearts, red and blue,

pump blood from me to you.

We may need a shot to stabilize

this brackish blend of blood and survive

one body which thrills and tingles,

one mind where thoughts mingle,

one spirit which soars and dives.

We’re less than two and more than alive.

We’re in love and loving.

We’re tangled.
