The evasion and speed boosts made it a good choice for anyone. It was even slightly better than my Evasion Cloak. What a good find.

“If you want it, Haruka-kun, feel free to keep it,” said the Class Rep. “You just gave away your last find, and you gave away those axes, too.”

“No objections!” the other girls chorused. “You gave us delicious okonomiyaki!”

Looked like it was mine. I gave them the Evasion Cloak in exchange, and after some discussion, they gave it to the Class Rep.

I wondered if fusing my Fairy Ring and Demon Ring together was a bad idea. Would they start fighting? I had to warn the demon scythes that there would be no bullying allowed. Could a Fairy Ring get bullied?

I decided to show my gratitude by giving them some sweets as we stopped for a break. I kept them a secret because I didn’t have a lot to share. They were limited edition snacks.

“These are my latest creation: steamed buns filled with jam,” I said. “They’re limited edition, okay? I can’t mass-produce them yet. The mystery fruit jam is so sweet and delicious, it’s mostly sugar. Actually, it’s more sugar than mystery fruit.”

“Oooh, steamed buns with jam!”

“Look at that powdered sugar! So fancy! Yum!”

“They’re so sweet! The mystery fruit is so sweet!”

I only got one variety of mystery fruit in that hamlet. It tasted great, but it wasn’t very sweet and not too juicy either—very weird, for a fruit. Perfect for jam; they kind of reminded me of strawberries.

My creation got rave reviews. Next time I stopped by that hamlet, I’d teach them how to make jam. They’ve got to cultivate more of this fruit.

We were approaching the 30th floor, but at this rate, getting to the 40th might be out of the question. How many floors did this dungeon have, anyway? I wanted to go back to town and sell some clubs. There was no point in trying too hard here. And anyway, the only enemies were golems.

I had no hope for encounters with monster girls. Stone Golem monster girls would be unacceptable! Absolutely forbidden!

Inorganic monsters were a definite turn-off. They were way too rigid—no softness at all. Although, I did find myself attracted to Miss Armor Rep’s sexy armor. Does that mean golems could be sexy, too?!

Impossible! As intriguing as the idea was, I couldn’t get over the rock-solid skin.
