To the east of the Acropolis, the Zappeio Gardens and the ruins of the Temple of Olympian Zeus lead to the elegant Panathenaic Stadium, built into Ardettos Hill. The attractive residential district Mets, characterised by some delightful neoclassical and prewar houses, runs up and behind the stadium. Northeast of Mets, Pangrati is a diverse residential neighbourhood with interesting music clubs, cafes and old-style family-run tavernas.
