The beast coiled back and I knew we only had seconds before he ate us, or some equally other horrible form of death.

Nor did I think that Sebaysha was up to this, either. She didn’t have a large fish to help us fight in here. If we were going to survive this, we needed a little help.

I immediately spent 20 Arcana and summoned Sir Grimheart.

“Go left,” I shouted at Sebaysha, and I ran right. As the knight manifested, we could use him as a distraction to flank the monster.

Tegros had a Health Bar that stretched across my vision.

Sir Grimheart paused only a second as he took in the situation, then he charged forward, sword low, prepared for his underhanded power attack. I’d been on the receiving end of that strike, and for once I felt fortunate to have him on my side.

The slice tore upward through the dragon, and I watched 28 Damage float away from Tegros and its Health. It was just a fragment of the dragon’s Health bar, foreboding a long and difficult battle.

The strike angered the dragon, and Grimheart drew all of the monster’s aggro. It let out a roar of fury, its eyes glowing with hellish malice as it took a deep breath.

Sebaysha, on the far side of the dragon, suddenly equipped one of those wicked looking spears that I’d seen the fishkin use. She dove into the water and shot forward. I could barely see her in the water, just the wake of her passage, as she swam across the lake.

Sebaysha uses Aqua Jet

Just as the dragon was about to unleash its breath attack, she shot from the water, stabbing the dragon in its unprotected belly for 18 Damage and interrupting its attack.

I was not nearly as fast, and as I came up to flank the beast, the water only slowed me down.

Grimheart moved into a combo strike, 11 Damage, 11 Damage and 27 Damage.

Tegros snapped at Grimheart. The knight blocked with his shield, a mirror image of my own. The dragon knocked him back ten feet, then discharged its breath weapon.

At such close range, Grimheart could only hide behind his shield. The waters about him swelled and shoved him backward. Even with his shield and armor, he took 10 Damage.

I reached the dragon, flanking it, and put all my strength into a power hit. My strike dealt 21 Damage, and I found myself shoved away as I drew the dragon’s aggro.

Following Grimheart’s example, I raised my shield just in time to block the dragon’s bite.

Tegros spun around, its massive serpentine body shoving all three of us away as it shot to the back of the vast cavern. It rose like a cobra about to strike.

Tegros Summons Tidal Wave

The waters around the dragon rose about the beast, as high as a four-story building. The massive wall of water paused for a second, then shot forward.

I couldn’t dodge it. I braced for the strike and found myself lifted by the torrent and sent tumbling.
