SUMMARY
Ideologies must work at the level of ideas and values; they must have a degree of coherence, they need to deliver in practice and they must be effective in some way.
Ideologies are important because they shape our perceptions and actions, they compete with one another for our allegiance and they are able to mobilize us at a fundamental level.
If the political ideologies of the modern world donât have solutions to environmental problems or are found wanting in the light of the critique of green thinking, then we may need to modify or renew them.
