Chapter Five

I couldn't believe I'd actually blurted that out, but now that I had, I was actually glad. If I was curious about this baby-having business, who better to ask than the man who'd just given birth to a beautiful little baby girl.

"I am." Ridley smiled at all the men in the room who were gazing at his chest, pulling the blanket down so we could see more of the sweet baby and where she was latched on to her father's chest.

"But you don't have boobs," I said, stupidly, scanning the freckled expanse of his other pec.

Ridley laughed softly, and the baby squirmed a moment before settling back in and continuing to suck. "I do kinda have boobs." He reached up with the hand that had been resting on the baby's back and poked lightly at his opposite pec, making it move ever so slightly. "They just aren't that noticeable."

"Especially right now," Bunny said, as she breezed into the room going over to her godson and giving him a kiss on the head, before leaning down to softly press a kiss to the tiny little head pressed to Ridley's chest. "When his milk comes in, they'll be a bit bigger, but shifter babies learn to eat fairly early." She continued to lightly stroke the baby's head. "By the time this one is three months, she'll be able to chew most solids. Daddy won't ever really need to make that much milk, so his milk supply and mammary system won't ever be big or even noticeable, really."

Everyone took turns congratulating the couple and touching the baby, getting her familiar with their scents and before long, it was just my mate and I and Bennett, Bunny and Thompsyn.

I hadn't wanted to cut in front of anyone since I hadn't known Ridley and Flynn all that long. When it was my turn, I took the tip of my finger and brushed it down the super soft skin of Harris's little cheek, smiling when her little mouth twitched.

Ridley had switched her to the other side about halfway through the line of well-wishers and now she lay there peacefully against daddy's chest, sleeping.

Flynn sat on the edge of the bed next to his mate, his arm along the back behind Ridley, as he continually looked back and forth between his two loves, looking every bit the proud mate and father.

"In another few weeks to a month, that will be us," Bennett said, smiling happily and reaching out to rub his giant mate's big belly. "But there will be one for each of us… I can't wait."

When Thompsyn gasped, trying to look down around his belly, everyone followed his gaze to the growing wet spot following the seam of his pants down the inside of both his legs.

"Oh," Bennett whispered, his face losing every ounce of color. "Well, I could have waited another month." His head snapped up, and though he looked like he was moments away from death, he tried unsuccessfully to glare at the bear shifter.
