This will be covered more in depth in the next chapter, as these are more than just a lexical element, but operators are the symbols that are used to perform an operation in a code. Operators jump start an entire process and are important to coding.

The types of Operators

As was stated in the above chapter, operators are symbols that start up a function. The operators are similar to those that are found in C++. However, due to garbage collection, there is no need for a delete operator in Java, so there is not one. The other operators are similar, and there are several different types, as are shown below.
