Jade was eager to get started. Rushing up to a line of people queuing to see a fortune teller, she cleared her throat and clapped her hands. “Excuse me, but I wanted to tell you about Leonardo, the toymaker. Something very sad has happened. His little puppet, Peter the clown has been stolen.”

A murmur ran through the queue. “Oh dear, that’s terrible!”

“Yes,” Jade quickly went on, “and we have to get him back, but he’s had a spell put on him…”

“A spell!” said the people nearest Jade. But the ones who were at the front of the queue weren’t really listening any more because they were getting ready to talk to the fortune teller.

Jade raised her voice slightly and spoke urgently. “We need to break the spell. We have to learn Peter’s dance.”
