In 1687, Newton published a book that talked about his findings. It was called Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which means “Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy.”

The second law of motion says that the greater the force acting on something, the faster the object’s movement will change. For example, the harder you hit a baseball with a bat, the faster it will go.

The third law states that for every action, there is an equal or opposite reaction. When you allow air to rush out of a balloon, the air goes one direction (action), and the balloon goes the other way (reaction).
