3. It is used to avoid painful Feelings. If sexuality is used to alter moods or results in painful mood shifts, then it is dearly part of the addictive process.

4. It is Empty. There is no caring, committed relationship. Fundamental to the concept of recovery from addiction is the healthy dimension of human relationships. The addict runs a great risk by being sexual outside of a committed relationship.
