Finally, some differences might be found in the views and the stored procedures that I had to refactor completely. Those details are beyond the scope of this book, but if you are interested you may find all the information about this porting on the project website at http://www.beeond.net/awmysql.
The Namespace
In the Microsoft SQL Server original AdventureWorks database, the logical namespace for the tables is divided in the schemas mentioned above4. Even if I “flattened” the schema configuration by putting everything in the same catalog in MySQL, it will be useful to keep in mind the intentional breakdown of the namespace, as it will come handy as we will develop our application code.
• Person: this set includes all the tables that identify a generic person information, and it is correlated to individual customers, vendors, and employees in the other namespaces.
