5 CONCLUSION

This paper first analyzes the concept, principles and methods of geographic information service composition and points out that the purpose of it is to construct geographic information service chaining, which encompasses the two basic elements of web services and service composition logic. We have provided a detailed introduction to geographic information service chaining and workflow, including comparison of approaches. Secondly, this paper has described the general framework of geographic information service composition and discussed the problems of the service composition model, workflow language, and visual expression. Then it has set forth how to solve the problem of heterogeneous geographic information service composition and how to integrate OGC and RESTful services into a broader GIS process based on BPEL. Finally, through the construction of a GIS service platform, this paper has used the example of a fire monitoring and early warning system to illustrate the application of the service composition process. The research into service composition based on workflow in this paper is still in the experimental stage and it is not related to research on semantic-based intelligence. However, the construction of service chaining according to the quality of the geographic information service options available at the time will become one of the main directions of research in the field of intelligent GIS.
