Chapter 15 – KOSTAS

I am not shocked that she knows. It’s not hidden from the world. I just wasn’t prepared for her in this state.

If I thought she was sexy that weekend on the island, I was not prepared for an angry Malaya. She’s fucking stunning, and I cannot resist the thrill of the chase.

It takes only a few seconds before I come back from the sting of her words and move my ass. Grabbing the two pieces she had been holding, I gave them to Kincaid.

“Take these and purchase them for me. I will repay you.”

“Where’re you going?” he asks as Champion asks, “Where’s Malaya?”

“She stepped outside for some air. I’m going to check on her. I’ll be back,” I call out over my shoulder.

I’m not sure they heard me with the noise level around us. I don’t care. The only thing that I care about now is finding Malaya and making it right.

She has every right to be pissed and none at all.

Yes, she should be upset that I am married, but if we are honest, we did not discuss our personal lives. She asked no questions about my marital status or if I was involved with anyone, and neither did I.

We both knew it was for the weekend only, and although I wanted more before the weekend ended, that was the agreement. I am a man of my word and will never go back on it. So, no matter how tempted I was to pursue her beyond that weekend when she did not express interest in furthering our connection, I let it go.

Perhaps, I was wrong. If she took the time to look me up and found out that I am married, then there was some interest there for her.

I look to my left and right, trying to figure out which direction she went. Taking a left out of the tents, I feel she’s gone in the direction of the largest crowd so that she can lose herself in it.

Moving quickly in that direction, I push through, hoping to catch a glimpse of her. There are just too many people out here, but I know she can’t have gotten far. I don’t believe she would have just left her friend even if she tried to evade me.

After walking for a couple of minutes and not spotting her, I turn back in the direction I came from. She very well may have gone to the right.

Stopping outside the arts and crafts tent, I wonder how I will go inside and tell Champion that I’ve pissed her friend off. Worse yet, I have no idea where she could be among the tens of thousands of people.

Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath and blow it out again. I have screwed this up royally and have no idea how to make it up to her.

I’m amazed that I want to make it up to her when it never would have mattered in the past.

I scan the crowd, wondering where she could have gone, when I spot her.
