Workers for the coroner were loading the body into the van in Queens, New York. Tolliver, Boyle, Jenkins, Foster and York were discussing the crime.

York spoke, “It fits the pattern but no leaf.” Boyle said, “Well, we don’t know that for sure, it may have slipped down his throat. We’ll have to wait for the coroner’s report.”

Brad Tolliver was visibly upset. “I hate these cases. We have to wait for someone else to get murdered to get little tidbits of evidence that will not likely save the next potential victim.”

After the coroner left, they separated into two groups and walked the neighborhood. It was not likely they would find any new information, they knew that, but there was not much else to do. Being an industrial neighborhood and not residential there were likely no witnesses, except maybe for a homeless person here and there. The crime likely took place at night which also made witnesses scarce in this neighborhood. They talked to some workers at other warehouses to no avail.

An hour had passed since the coroner left when Tolliver decided they should head back to the precinct. They got into the two squad cars and drove back to Manhattan. There was plenty of paperwork to do and a lot of research as well.
