.The distance and texture are used to compute the order signatures.

.A threshold is chosen upon the examination of the differences in justified order factors of individual signature.

.The higher order attaining below the preset threshold for the first time is mentioned as a stability index of that particular face image.

.2.5 Statistical Measures from Distance and Texture Signature

We consider a huge number of features for increasing the effectiveness of the emotion recognition system. In this regard statistical approaches such as range, kurtosis, moments, entropy, and skewness are measured from both normalized distance and texture signatures. The detailed discussion of the statistical measures is available in the second chapter of Sect. 2.3.3. These statistical measures play an indispensable role to identify the expression for both individual signatures. The statistical measures are joined from both individual and combined signature to form a combined feature set for recognizing the expressions.
