Do It Yourself
The do-it-yourself approach is going to ensure that you get your phone fixed faster and cheaper. The DIY approach will require you to purchase some tools and parts in order to replace your battery.
Tools/Parts you need: battery, suction cup, 5-point security screwdriver, standard #000 screwdriver, spudger tool, razor blade, opening tool.
Steps to DIY Replacement of the Battery
Step 1: Power Your iPhone Off
The first step, you will have to power your iPhone off. You do not want to start the process when your iPhone is powered on.
Step 2: Remove the Front Screen Assembly
You are going to need to use the screwdriver to remove the two different screws that are on the bottom of the dock. Once this is completed, you want to place your suction cup on the front of the phone in the center right above the home button. You should be careful to not take off the entire screen; your goal is to only remove the bottom portion. After the screen is free, you should bring up the display assembly so that you can get to the shield that is working to hold the cables in place.
