Legal deposit libraries
Anyone who publishes a book in the UK and Ireland must send copies of that book at their own expense to six libraries where they will form part of the national archive. These libraries are often referred to as copyright libraries or the Legal Deposit Libraries. They receive, free of charge, a copy of every work published in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Five of the six libraries collect their books via a single agency acting on their behalves, so you only need to send a box of five books to that agency and they will pass your books on to the following libraries:
