In optimal conditions, chili plants can reach 24–32 inches (60–80 cm) in height or exceed 3 feet (one meter), depending on the species.

Generally the plant grows branches which in turn branch further, especially in the flowering phase. Each node produces one or more floral buds, depending on the species.

Take care when handling or moving the pot, as the branches can break, since the plants are generally not very robust.
