We must free ourselves of the hope that the sea will ever rest. We must learn to sail in high winds.

Aristotle Onassis

There are a lot of things in life that we think we should be able to control. We work so hard to find a place of security where we feel safe. We want to ensure that life goes the way that we want it to. But so few of us have super powers. Not one of us knows how to control the wind or, say, a large tiger coming at us. It only takes a glimpse of nature in all of its power to undo that feeling of security. A moment in a hailstorm, the view of a rushing tsunami, the rumbling of an earthquake? These things show us how powerless we really are. The wilderness shows us how little we actually control. The disciples discovered this firsthand.
