Chapter-11: Dinner In Denver

THE TWO OF THEM WERE ready to paint the town red—Ashlee, in her 'borrowed' black suit, with a red, ruffled blouse, and Kelsey, looking oh, so sexy in her black, form fitting, short sleeved dress, with a little side-boob showing and a whole lot of cleavage going on. The hemline was around six inches above the knee, and her four-inch strap-over, stiletto heels really made her legs look beyond sexy. Ashlee wanted to take Kelsey in her arms right there and rip her clothes off.

Slipping a matching jacket over her bare arms and shoulders, she turned to Ashlee and said, "Are you ready to go, sweetie?"

Oh, my God, she just called me sweetie—I am her sweetie. "Let's do it." Ashlee smiled, following her out to the garage.

They had decided to have dinner at one of Denver's finest steakhouses. They would have never gotten in without reservations and Kelsey's clout. It was Saturday evening, and the place was packed. After holding the door open for Ashlee, they stepped inside. "Reservations for Savage, party of two," Kelsey said to the man at the front counter.

"Right this way, ladies," the greeter said, showing them to their table.

Their table was located away from the main floor, tucked away in a cozy and very romantic corner. Their greeter seated the pair, then lit the candles at their table. "Can I get you ladies something to drink?" he asked, handing them their menus.

"I think I'll have one of your strawberry daiquiris," Kelsey said.

"I'll have the same," Ashlee added.

"Very good," he said, "I'll have your waitress bring them and she'll take your order."

After returning with the drinks, the waitress took their order. They both had soup and salad and decided to split a medium New York strip steak between them. No dessert. Ashlee had a feeling they would be having that later back at Kelsey's place.

The two of them finished dinner and ordered a couple more drinks. Damn, Kelsey looked stunning in the candlelight. She had the most disarming smile and glossy, pouty red lips, and her eyes just sparkled. Ashlee wanted to just grab her and kiss those lips on the spot. Suddenly, Ashlee's concentration was broken.

"Hi, Kelsey, are you going to introduce me to your friend?" A tall, slim woman with short, graying hair asked, as she stood at their table directly in front of them.

"Sure," Kelsey said, a bit taken back. "This is Ashlee Miles. Ashlee, this is Alexis Farner, from Santa Fe. Lexi was instrumental in securing the contract for the art center."

"Pleased to meet you," Ashlee smiled, offering Alexis her hand.

"Charmed," she said, in a less that cordial manner, refusing Ashlee's gesture.

"Won't you join us?" Kelsey asked her.

"No. I've got to go back to the hotel and catch up on those papers I need to bring to you on Monday morning. I really can't stay. Besides, three would seem to be a crowded situation tonight. See you in your office on Monday, Kelsey." She half-heartedly smiled. She refused to acknowledge Ashlee's existence.
