Alright, I could do this. Creating something from nothing was extremely difficult, but I was going to start small. First, manipulate color. Orange was made of red and yellow. I put my hands on the truck and thought about the yellow leaving. I thought about a pure red. I thought about shiny red pain being soaked by the sun. I then felt the heat move from my hands and into the truck.

I heard a small intake of breath, followed by a clap. I took a step back and opened my eyes. Ash had already wrapped his arms around my shoulders. “Very good, Isobel. That was incredible.” I beamed at the now solid red massive truck. “How do you feel?” He asked, then gave me a kiss.

“Fine. Maybe like I went up a couple of flights of stairs, but I’m good. Now part two.”

“Don’t push yourself, my little witch.” He paused. “Then again, I have a theory on how to heal you…so do as you must.” He winked, and I felt as if I could read my dirty thoughts. He was thinking of treating me like a succubus. Filling me with sex to make up for lost magic. That wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world…far from it, actually. I kissed him on the cheek and went back to concentrating.

This big ugly truck needed to disappear, but I wasn’t about that, so let me change it. I knew Ash thought Brax caused this little joke, but my money was on Kai. He had a lot more free time on his hands today. I wondered what he was thinking and feeling? Was he angry with me? Or them? I didn't completely understand why he left us. I wanted him to stay. Unlike the other two who seemed to be able to read me, maybe with Kai, I needed to be more direct and vocal. I’d hate to think my bond with him was weaker than the others.

“Why the sad face beautiful?” Ash was next to me again.

“I was just thinking about Kai.”

“Did he hurt you?” Ash went wildly protective. “If he did something, tell me now, and I will go end him.” He held me tight.

“No….no, nothing like that. I just hate that he left without telling me goodbye. Does he not want…”

He swept me up in his arms and cradled my head in the crook of his elbow, so I was staring up at him. It was very Hollywood glamour and romance. “His leaving had nothing to do with you. He was upset with Brax and me. He’s too young and stupid to realize that his actions hurt you as well. I promise if he knew that you’d miss him or be upset, he would have never left.”

“Too young to understand?” I quirked my eyebrows up. “I’m the one who is about to turn nineteen.” I chuckled.

“Well, you are more mature than the over twenty-five hundred-year-old demon baby.”

“Are you serious? What about you?”

He stopped and thought real hard and even ticked off his fingers.
