CHAPTER 5

5.1

Hank was soaked and dripping some kind of dinosaur goo that hung from his clothes like slime. It got into his wounds and stung like hell which only added to his already boiling anger. He looked behind him and saw the thing that had showered him, the thing that roared and brought down the entire fucking mountain. People were screaming in pain and terror all around him and it felt like music to his ears. But this is my show, you son of a bitch, he thought as he faced the monster that seemed to stare directly at him.

“I’m the monster here!” he screamed at the dinosaur that chuffed in response blowing steam out of its enormous nostrils. “You don’t get to take them from me. I’m going to kill them. Your big ugly ass can eat the others. I don’t give a shit.”

The dinosaur blinked. Then it rose to its full height and Hank had to laugh. He couldn’t fucking believe it. He had never seen anything so big in his entire life. It was insane. He loved it. But he meant what he said. The beast opened its giant razor-toothed jaws and let loose another roar that brought more of the mountain toppling down onto the wounded, crushing them and leaving their friends and families crying out. Hank laughed more at this. He nodded, wiped goo from his eyes, and then gave the creature a thumbs up. Then he turned to face the people he wanted to kill. The monster would prey upon this whole lodge and everyone in it, but Hank had his own prey and they were getting away. He couldn’t allow that.

“I’m coming for you, motherfuckers!” he screamed and then he took off at a sprint after them.
