Downward, roaring

turbofan.

Wheels on runway in a rush.

Grinding. Stopping. Resting.

Hush.

Fire engine, work is done.

To the station, end of run.

Scrubbed-down hoses,

shiny chrome.

Silent engine

safe at home.
