Chapter 18

God created the angels before the earth. We witnessed as God spoke the words, “Let there be light” and there was light. Humans cannot comprehend the incredible display of power and authority that occurred in those days.

We angels are different than seraphs and cherubs and other angelic beings. Some of us are archangels, some are messengers, and some are guardians. God created guardians to do what our name suggests; we guard humans. Guardians existed since the time of Adam and Eve, but we serve as messengers before we receive promotion to guardians.

I received my first assignment only twenty-eight years ago. I joined him when he turned eleven and remained with him until he was twenty, when I made the mistake.

When our assignments die, we move on to new assignments as Shimron has done with Patricia. He now guards Jake Anderson. But sometimes, we transfer to new assignments based on our skills, experience, and geographic location. We can travel with humans, but often we stay in specific areas of the earth where God places us. If we receive an assignment that is a newborn, we typically transfer to another assignment after a few years. It’s rare to spend a lifetime with an assignment.

We, like humans, have the capacity to learn and discern as we grow, but God also gives us instructions and we follow them. Angels do not sin for we do not know good and evil. Demons act with evil intentions, and we act with noble and righteous intentions. However, we can make mistakes due to inexperience. I know firsthand that our mistakes can cause unintended consequences for humans. On these rare occasions, God will work for the good of those involved in the angelic error unless the human chooses to follow evil and neglect God. Pride causes many humans to believe they can choose better for themselves than God can, but when an angelic mistake aids this decision, God does punish His angels. I made a mistake with my first assignment. God showed me grace but immediately removed me from my assignment and placed me with Charlotte who was born that same night.

Tom Jefferson had multiple attachments due to his prideful choices. At an early age, he faced racism in his school, and he chose to cover his pain with pride. His dad taught him to believe in himself, but this teaching led to a conceited heart. Tom had accepted Christ as his savior at the age of thirteen but without proper guidance in his walk, demons easily attached to him, and his prideful ways opened multiple portals.

When he was twenty, he shoplifted video games from the department store that employed him. After his third successful steal, he decided to up his game. Now carrying a demonic stronghold due to his actions, the voices told him to steal a gun from the sporting goods department and convinced him he would succeed. He was partially correct. He successfully stole the gun, but investigators questioned him, and he knew he would fail the coming polygraph.
