The look on Bryce Lexingtonâs handsome face said it all. He liked what he saw, liked it very much. Paige felt an inexplicable tingle of excitement as he continued to stare at her. She imagined it must be akin to the type of thrill an exhibitionist felt. Just a few moments, however, was all the thrill lasted before embarrassment overcame her and she reached for a beach jacket. She quickly pulled it on, covering her body from shoulders to midthigh. âIâve never worn such a skimpyââ
âTomorrow, Bradfordâ¦â Bryce paused to take a calming breath and slow down his words, âtomorrow bring your own swimsuit.â He quickly turned and left the pool house without even pausing to look back. He executed a running dive into the pool and began swimming laps as if he were in competition for the Olympic gold. He did not know what else to do. It took every fiber of willpower to keep from pulling her into his arms, carrying her off to the bedroom and spending the entire night making love to her slowly, passionately, deliciously and totally.
He wanted to savor every centimeter of her body, know every place that excited her, lose himself completely to the sensation of every shared intimacy. Almost as much as he wanted to make love to her he wanted to know what she was doing in his life, what she was searching for. He continued to swim until the refreshing feel of the water and the vigorous exercise finally took their toll on his heated desires.
As soon as Bryce dived into the water, Paige closed the door to the pool house. She quickly removed the red thong swimsuit and slipped into another suit, a two-piece suit that was far less revealing. After bringing the thump-thump of her pounding heart back to normal, she went out to the decking. She watched him for a few minutes. His swimming stroke was smooth and powerful, his muscles rippled as his tanned body cut back and forth through the sparkling water seemingly oblivious to her presence.
The sun felt good on her skin as she stretched out on one of the lounge chairs, its warmth soothing her slightly shattered sense of propriety. She closed her eyes. The look of smoldering intensity that Bryce had greeted her with in the pool house popped back into her mind. A tremor of sensual desire made its way through her body, then settled low inside her. Once again she relived every moment of the heated kiss they had shared in London following their evening at the theater.
The choices she had made that brought her to where she was at that moment seemed as if they had come from some bizarre tortured place. She was not sure what she wanted anymore or why she was still there. She probably should have resigned immediately upon their return from London as she had originally planned, but now it was too late. She couldnât dismiss her feelings and desires where Bryce Lexington was concerned.
