The snow was still coming down, but fortunately, they didn't have to leave the hotel for the rehearsal dinner. It was being held in the ballroom where the wedding would take place the next day, the tables arranged in a square so everyone could see each other. Tobias nursed a single glass of wine all night and enjoyed the chicken dish that Donna made sure to mention happened to be an extra plate.
A short distance down the hall, the thirtieth reunion was being set up in a different ballroom, and every now and then, Tobias would see Annie walk quickly past the doors, intent on straightening out some issue or another. Lottie was seated across from him tonight, but that didn't stop her from talking to him over the space in the middle of the tables. She was practically glowing, and Tobias caught Jeremy staring at her more than once, an expression on his face like he couldn't believe he was going to get to marry her the next day.
Wouldn't it be nice to have someone look at you that way?
He turned to say something to Nash and found the man looking at him, one corner of his mouth turned slightly upward. Heat flowed to Tobias's groin like a damn waterfall, and he shifted position as his cock started to harden.
Well, gotta admit, that was pretty nice.
They had intended to leave the rehearsal dinner early, but it was later than expected when they finally managed to break away. Tobias had hoped he might be able to convince Nash to go back upstairs for a quickie, but the moment they stepped out of the ballroom, they were immediately spotted by Annie.
"Tobias!" She rushed up and grabbed him by the upper arms. "I'm so glad you're here. I need some help." She glanced into the ballroom at Nash's family and looked back at him with a frown. "What were you doing in there?"
"We went into the wrong room," Nash said quickly. "We were talking and laughing and went in the wrong door."
Nash put a hand on each of their backs and gently ushered them out of sight of his family members and toward the doors to the reunion.
"What did you need help with?" Tobias asked.
"Oh, right. We're out of nametags, I need someone to go to the front desk and see if they have any extras."
"I'll go," Nash offered. "You two go on in, and I'll be back in a few minutes."
Tobias watched him go, taking in those broad shoulders and mostly silver hair. This anticipation was getting to be almost painful.
Annie grabbed his hand and led him into the ballroom, where a couple dozen people were already milling around. Greetings were exchanged and small talk pleasantries.
âTobias, youâre in great shape,â said Winona Harper, then cast a glance at her shorter, bald husband who had just gone to the bar. âDo you still do gymnastics?â
âSadly, not that much. My knees arenât as forgiving as they used to be.â
Another couple approached, David Wilson, the class treasurer back in the day, and his wife, Melissa.
