Sun was almost down when Cooper's yacht reached the place, the sky rippled with red-tinted clouds.

Cooper shut down the engines and walked out of the cabin onto the foredeck, where Veronica, Danny and Mrs. Gallaher were all standing by the rail, looking into the water. There was nothing unusual or extraordinary about it. It was just water, the way it always was. There was also nothing unusual “in the air”, and nobody experienced mood swings anymore, nor change of perception. It was a very normal day on the sea.

“What do we do now?” Veronica asked. Mrs. Gallaher put her hand about Veronica’s waist and pulled her closer in a friendly manner.

“Now we wait, darling,” she said. “We wait.”

They looked around, each of them looking in different directions, trying to spot anything floating in the water, finding nothing. After a few moments of staring down, Danny felt an impulse to look up at the sun. It was going to be below the horizon in half an hour, but for now it was still bright, blazing.
