The goal when that happens is that you are able to create your own reference value to match the database. You have 2 options to do it: Modify the table that you are going to fill or modify your database.

EXERCISE (chapter6ex1.xlsx)

We will solve together the next exercise. You are asked to relate the 2 tables and get the ZIP code of each store but the database you have (in another worksheet) doesn’t have any Lookup Value that you can match exactly.

In a table you must fill in the column "Store", and the stores are numbered (eg 1001, 1002), while in the database the same column "Store" includes the word "Store + ID" (eg Store 1001, Store 1002 ). Our job is to match them and then use Vlookup.
