There's more…

Entity Framework's behavior will be the same as usual; we only need to be concerned with explicit SQL calls that we may be doing. It is possible to create several nested transactions, as can be done in databases; we just need to hold references to all of the transactions (DbTransaction instances) and manually manage them.

Using explicit transactions

Implementing optimistic concurrency in SQL Server

Another way to deal with simultaneous changes to a database is implementing optimistic concurrency control. Unlike transactions—the pessimistic approach—with optimistic concurrency we assume that things will work out fine, so we have no need for explicit control mechanisms (transactions). In this chapter, we will see a solution for SQL Server.
