People are always looking for the special pill or magical cure for weight loss. They visit nutritional shops and purchase diet pills and energy drinks, believing that these will help them lose body fatâbut what they are really doing is overstimulating their adrenal systems. The adrenal system functions through the adrenal glands. Adrenal glands secrete epinephrine and norepinephrine throughout the body and are activated as the bodyâs natural response to stress. High levels of stress and products such as caffeine supplements, coffee, soda, or tea often stimulate the adrenals. When the adrenals are overstimulated, they begin to wear down, which causes a condition called adrenal fatigue, or hypoadrenia. Close to 95 percent of Americans suffer from adrenal fatigue during their lifetimes.1 Sufferers experience symptoms of exhaustion and must rely on compounds such as caffeine to get them through the day.
Years ago, I sought the advice of a leading authority in the endocrine system when I still didnât fully understand how the bodyâs systems worked. I was searching for the best solutions for weight and fat loss after rapid weight gain. He told me the specific nutrients to give my body to rebuild the adrenal glands, and what I should remove from my diet that would help strengthen and rebuild them. When I followed his recommendations, I began to lose weight rapidly in a healthy way, and I saw my energy levels increase exponentially.
