I’D LIKE TO TELL the story once more, and I’ll begin with what I think is the real beginning of things, and these would be things I could return to at my pleasing, those that are mine, those that I can call my own. Those that could be mine. But beginnings are often murky. There is danger in the bleakness—because you see almost nothing, you tend to see all sorts of demons and creatures, and they look as though they all reside in that story, the story you want to hear. Like many other things, I let it take its own course.
