Chapter 10
âOh, my God,â I gasped before I sat up on the bed and leaned over Amy so I could wrap my arms around Lapis. âThatâs amazing. What did you see?â
âIs this another vision?â Sid asked.
Next to her, Amber had fallen back asleep, so I motioned at the three women to follow me out of the room so we could talk about Lapisâ new memories without disturbing the redhead.
In the living room, I turned on a small standing lamp beside the couch that basked the room in a warm yellow glow that wasnât too bright for our eyes.
âLapis remembered some things from her past,â I explained to both Sid and Amy, who still looked confused and slightly freaked out about what had just happened to the blonde.
I couldnât blame the purple-haired woman for reacting the way she had, but I could certainly make sure she was alright, so I grabbed her hand and squeezed it as we sat down next to each other on the couch. Lapis sat on the armchair, and Sid sat on my other side.
My dark-haired girlfriend was still half-asleep, so she laid her head down on my lap, and I used my free hand to stroke her yellow-streaked hair.
âThatâs amazing, Lapis,â Sid said, and despite how tired she was, I could hear the excitement in her voice. âWhat do you remember?â
âIt was very strange,â the blonde murmured, and as I stared at her, I could see she was still shaken up and unsure about what had happened.
âItâs okay, you can tell us,â I said as I smiled reassuringly.
âI know theyâre memories, but it was as if I were watching them from an outsiderâs perspective.â Lapis frowned. âIs that odd?â
âNo.â I shook my head. âI believe Amber felt exactly the same when it happened to her.â
âIt also happened to Amber?â Amy asked. âSo, you were both able to remember some things you couldnât before?
âYes.â I nodded and smiled at Amethyst, who was frowning and seemed to be thinking real hard about all of this. âWe donât know why it happened, but we believe itâs because our bond is stronger than before, and every time we have sex, the bond must strengthen.
âOh,â Amy said, and I saw her cheeks become slightly pink at my explanation. âI see.â
âSo, what did you see, Lapis?â Sid asked, and the three of us looked at the blonde, who was wringing her hands together as a small, hesitant smile played on her lips.
âWell, it was me,â she started, and her smile grew more steady and firm. âI saw myself as a child. Well, not a young child, but around ten or eleven, maybe?â
âThatâs amazing, Lapis,â I told the blonde. âWhat happened in your memory, do you know?â
âYes.â Lapis nodded, and her short blonde curls moved around her cheeks. âI was in Haddenâs bakery, and I was wearing an apron and baking some bread. The owners of the bakery werenât my parents, but they took me in and taught me everything they knew.â
âSo, you were an orphan, like me?â Sid asked as she angled her head in my lap to better see the blonde.
