Kallie tossed her briefcase and jacket on the counter as she walked into the house. The stress of the week was finally crushing down on her, she was exhausted.

For a moment, she found herself wishing she was still at work. At least her mind would be preoccupied. She wouldn't have to think about what was going on in her personal life. Wouldn't have to think about Skylar.

In a desperate attempt to distract herself, she pulled out a bottle of wine, and poured a glass. Grabbing a book, she took the glass, and headed into the living room. She was ready to relax, dive into her novel, and leave the world behind.

Half an hour passed and she found it hard to focus on the pages. Her mind kept obsessing and nagging over Luce's words. Two days Skylar hadn't shown up for work. Hadn't even called. It wasn't like the girl, well, not the sober one.

Stop! Just relax and unwind. She's not your problem anymore. She's an adult.

With renewed determination to forget about it all, she picked up her glass and savored the flavor, before flipping back to her book.
