Explore Alphorn—The Domain as a Whole

As the first step in getting to know Alphorn, we invite salesperson Sandy and risk manager Raymond to a workshop. Ideally, we would have invited real customers too. Since this is difficult in our situation, we invite someone who can represent the customers’ view: customer service agent Charley. In addition to the domain experts, the developers Denise and Dave are also on board because they will later have to write the software to support the new leasing processes.

Customer service agent Charley: “The whole thing starts with the customer choosing a car from the catalog.”

Salesperson Sandy: “Yes, and after that they ask me for an offer.”

Modeler Henning: “I’ll draw that as sentences 1 and 2, starting at an actor ‘customer.’”

Sandy: “When I’ve been asked, I offer a contract for that car and….”
