Even though Bucky wasn’t technically on the cheer squad anymore, he still showed up to all our events. I think he missed cheer . . . and the limelight. When the aliens arrived, Bucky felt it was his job to protect the Seabrook Cup, like it was his legacy and he didn’t want it ever to leave Seabrook.

He also didn’t want to face the fact that if Grandma Angie was actually an alien, there was some alien in his blood, too. That would make him different. “I’m not an alien,” he proclaimed. “I’m an ordinary person. An extraordinarily normal spectacularly fabulous ordinary awesome person.”

But in the end, he came to terms with his alien heritage and even decided to share his mastery of cheer with other galaxies. He bid Seabrook “sis boom buh-bye!” and headed out to space for a cheer-tastic adventure.
