Chapter 11

The guest room was quite impressive. It was at least as big as my parents’ entire house. It wasn’t just a single room either. There was a large living area with several chairs and a couch where you could entertain guests or just relax. There was a large bedroom with a bed that was twice as big as the one I slept in at home. There was even a small kitchen where you could cook yourself a snack if you didn’t want to call a servant to make one for you.

A large window in the living room overlooked a fountain. The fountain was constructed of obsidian blocks. The base of the fountain was rectangular in shape and filled with water approximately one block deep. In the center of the fountain was an obelisk about ten blocks tall. The water in the base of the fountain was pumped up through the obelisk and trickled down its sides making a soothing sound. There were several large ornate letter “D”s carved here and there on the exterior of the fountain.

“I bet Entity 303 had that thing installed,” I muttered to myself. “It’s ostentatious and gaudy.”

Still, although the fountain was rather ugly and grandiose, the sound of the trickling water was quite soothing. I put my clothes away in a chest and pulled my surfboard out of my inventory and leaned it against the wall. Then I lay down on the couch and was lulled to sleep by the sound of gurgling water.
