Day 45 – One-Half Second Later

I stared at the spot where Herobrine had been standing. I felt hatred and rage rising within me. “How could he abandon us like that?!”

“Because he’s a selfish, inconsiderate meanie,” pouted Tina.

“What we do now?” asked Biff with a worried tone in his voice.

“We need to find a village and get a map of the beta dimension. That’s the only way we’ll ever have a chance of finding Notch and getting out of here,” said Emma. She was always so practical.

“I’m very angry at Herobrine right now too,” said the Ender King in a deep gruff voice. “But Emma is right, we need to move forward with the plan. Once we rescue Notch, we will get back to the Overworld and then we can deal with Herobrine.”

“So, where do you think we can find a village?” I asked.

“Give me a minute,” said the Ender King. I watched as he teleported high into the air. As he fell back towards the ground, he was rotating his head looking for signs of a village. He then teleported back down to the ground and said, “I see one off to the north. It looks like we could probably walk there in about fifteen minutes. Tina and I could teleport you but there are a lot of you and it might be best if we walked since things may not work quite the way they do in the regular dimensions of Minecraft. I don’t want to risk it yet.”

“Fine then. Let’s go,” I said.

As we began walking northward, Claire came over to me and said in a soft voice, “Can I talk to you in private.” I saw Emma give me a strange glance but she said nothing. “Sure, let’s hang back behind the group.”

When we were out of earshot of the rest of the group, Claire said, “I didn’t want to tell the others, but that lake we were in before we came to the beta dimension … hurrr ... I recognized it.”

I was surprised and shocked to hear this. I raised my eyebrows and my eyes got all buggy with astonishment. It felt like my body was rippling. “What do you mean? Have you seen a picture of it? Have you been there?”
