Chapter Thirteen

A few weeks later, the women had a routine that worked well and gave them some time of their own.

Amelia grinned. Her relaxing time was usually spent on her back or hands and knees in Fury’s bed. If he caught her not doing anything, he’d pick her up, throw her over his shoulder, and take her to their bedroom. He’d done it so many times, she’d given up trying to fight or reason with him. She could still feel herself blush at all the hoots and whistles, which made Fury chuckle.

At that moment, he had her pinned on her back on their bed.

“Fury, I have to get to the kitchen and help Tara.”

He growled and lifted his arm enough so she could slide out. She grinned as he grumbled like a child as she got dressed.

“Stop, you’re being a baby. You’ve had me up here three times today.”

He braced himself on one elbow and glared at her. “Did you just call me a baby?”

She bit her lip to prevent the giggle from bursting out, nodded, and took several steps back toward the door.

She squealed when he jumped from the bed. She had just gotten the door open and was running down the hall when she heard him cussing and trying to pull on his jeans.

“Goddammit, woman. You’re in such trouble,” he bellowed.

Amelia had just made it to the top of the stairs when she was yanked off her feet. She screamed, getting everyone’s attention.

“You’re going to drop me,” she screeched. “Put me down.”

He chuckled and pressed her to the first available wall.

“Now, do you want to tell me again what you said to me in our room?”

She shivered at his dark, threatening tone. She wasn’t the least bit scared, but she always got a tad nervous because she never knew what he would do to her.

“I … I said that you’re my man.”

He raised an eyebrow. She knew he didn’t believe her, but she kept going.

“Really?” he asked.

She nodded. “Yes. You’re the only man I can ever see myself with.”

His eyes narrowed, and he pressed his cock against the junction of her legs. “Go ahead.”

“I wouldn’t be able to find a man as handsome, smart, or loving as you, and I think I’m the luckiest girl in the world.”

He nodded once. “That’s what I thought you said.”

She relaxed against the wall and waited for him to release her.

“But if you ever say something like that again…”

“What? I can’t call you handsome?”

He snorted. “You know what I’m talking about. If you ever say it again, your ass will be a bright shade of red, and it will be hard for you to sit down for a while. Do you get me?”

She pressed her hand to her mouth when she giggled. It took her a minute to get her laughter under control before she nodded. “I understand.”

He looked to the ceiling. “Jesus, what did I do to deserve this feisty, ornery woman?”

She laughed. “I guess you were just lucky.”

He grinned. “Yes, I was.
